‘The Veil’ is a short story by the author of ‘The history of the Crutchley family’ web site. The idea for this tale is based on my own genealogical research experience, but is in its entirety, pure imaginative fiction.

‘The Veil’ relates the strange tale of William, a most unlikely genealogist who is drawn to and completely absorbed by the hobby following a freak media coincidence. William embarks on a quest that will require all of his inner reserves to complete. As he nears his genealogical goal, William’s research places great strain on his personal and professional relationships, ultimately it consumes his resources entirely.
