The shop shown above stands on the High Street in Cheslyn Hay. Now a beauty studio, this shop was once a grocery store that was owned by my ancestor William Crutchley.

William was born on 10th August 1822. A Christian, he served as a Methodist minister, but had left the ministry before his death on 20th July 1894. William is buried with his wife Mary at Broomhill Cemetery, Pye Green Road, Cannock. His service to the church is commemorated through two memorials at Salem Methodist Church where he served for many years. These memorials are shown below.
